Interstitial Cystitis Pictures and Videos
There’s an old saying “A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words” and in the case of IC, this couldn’t be more true. Until you can actually see the condition of the bladder wall, it’s hard to understand why symptoms can be so difficult to manage. We’ve assembled the only on-line collection of bladder images including two fantastic videos from Dr. Tomohiro Ueda that clearly demonstrate bladder wall damage and dysfunction. We also have some teaching imagery submitted by Mary Eno RN, an IC research coordinator at the University of Iowa. And, of course, we happily share images submitted by patients from their own procedures.
Note: These pictures were taken during a hydrodistention with cystoscopy procedure. Most IC patients have “normal” findings during just a cystoscopy. It takes the more intensive procedure, the hydrodistention, to reveal bladder damage.
